Q: Is there any guarantee or warranty that applies to the auction items?
A: No, all items are sold “as is”, “where is” basis. The Embassy makes no guarantee or warranty of any kind, and no exchanges or refunds will be permitted.
Q: I see something I like in one of the lots, but I don’t want the rest of the items. Can I bid on only the one that I like?
A: No. All items are sold as one lot, and cannot be broken up into smaller parts. Bids must be for the entire lot.
Q: What methods of payment are acceptable?
A: The Embassy will accept cash payments only.
Q: Do I have to pay a customs duty on items I buy from the Consulate?
A: Yes. The winning bidder is responsible for paying any applicable customs duties.
Q: Will the Embassy assist me in transporting or storing items that I win?
A: No. The Embassy cannot assist in the transportation or storing of items. The winning bidder is responsible for making all arrangements and for paying all necessary transportation costs. Items must be removed within 24 hours after payment is made. If the property is not removed, the Embassy will give notice of default and shall be entitled to charge for storage up to the bid value, after which the winner will forfeit title to the property and all payments previously made.
Q: I bought a lot. Can I make multiple trips to pick them up?
A: Yes, but you need to pick them up on the same day.
