The U.S. Embassy has received word that the Government of Nepal has approved the operation of two charter flights within the next several days.  Qatar Airways will operate a charter flight on Sunday, May 16, and Turkish Airlines will operate a charter flight on Monday, May 17.  If you are interested in traveling to the United States on either of these flights, you will need to contact directly the respective travel agency facilitating the booking and ticketing for each of the airlines.  As these are private commercial flights, the U.S. Embassy cannot assist with reservations, and neither the U.S. Embassy nor the Government of Nepal sets or has a role in the setting of ticket prices.  Please note that previously purchased tickets and/or return tickets for regularly scheduled flights are not valid for these charter flights.  New tickets for these charter flights must be purchased to travel.  Information the Embassy has received regarding pricing is that tickets to various destinations in the United States on the Qatar Airways flight are between $1,600 and $1,900, and tickets to various destinations on the Turkish Airlines flight are between $1,500 and $1,600.
